Requirements of position
 
We are hiring an Entry-Level Lumber Grader for a lumber mill environment. This role is responsible for inspecting and grading lumber based on quality standards. No prior grading experience is required—training will be provided for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect lumber for quality, size, and defects such as knots, cracks, or warping
  • Sort and grade lumber according to company and industry standards
  • Stack and organize lumber for processing or shipment
  • Remove defective or damaged materials from production
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in a mill environment
 
 
 
 
 
Responsibilities of position
 
 Requirements
  • Entry-level position; training provided
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment
 
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Previous experience in a lumber yard, sawmill, or manufacturing environment
  • Basic understanding of measuring tools or material inspection
