RESPONSIBILITIES
Hands-On Synthesis / Product & Process Development
Oleochemical synthesis
100 mL to 4L reaction scale, working with pressurized equipment
Interpretation of analytical results (provided by QC laboratory)
Raw Material receiving to shipping Final Product
Process development and Plant support for the Care Solutions product lines at the Mapleton Plant
New Product Introduction (NPI) Work
Investigating and developing corrective actions for chemistry-based production problems
Qualification of new raw materials
Administrative Activities (project management, safety, training, meetings, etc.)
Bi-monthly reports and ongoing project summaries
Regular (monthly) company required training
Regular group meetings that require written updates and presentations
Leadership based Collaboration (Data interpretation, coaching, education)
Working with other team members to help interpret reaction/ analytical results
be a role model in safe working behavious
REQUIREMENTS -
Ph.D. (preferred) in chemistry or related field with at least two years of experience or MS/BS with at least five years of experience
Attention to safety and safe work practices in an industrial chemical laboratory including work with hazardous substances
Industrial synthesis and/or process optimization experience, especially related to fatty acid, hydrogenation and/or amine chemistry
Experience with high pressure equipment is preferred
Experience with wet chemistry analytics, IR and NMR is preferred
Good communication and presentation skills; ability to work within cross-regional and cross-cultural teams
Comprehensive technical and chemical knowledge, ability to analyze R&D and production data and trends to identify problems and provide technical guidance
Utilize Microsoft 365 for data analysis, documentation, reporting and presentation
Strong and proactive verbal communication skills
