Western Sydney Local Council is seeking a driven and experienced Heritage Planner. You will be part of the Planning and Design Directorate, working within the City Planning team, committed to protecting and enhancing heritage values while supporting sustainable urban growth and renewal across a diverse and rapidly evolving local area.

DUTIES.
- Providing expert heritage advice and interpretation of relevant legislation, policies, and planning frameworks
- Assessing Development Applications, State Significant Development Applications (SSDAs), Planning Proposals and Master Plans
- Supporting and contributing to Council’s Strategic Planning Framework including LEPs, DCPs, SEPPs and related strategies
- Undertaking heritage-related research, analysis and preparation of reports and recommendations
- Delivering heritage projects, initiatives, and strategic planning programs
- Engaging and liaising with internal stakeholders, government agencies, consultants, developers and the community
- Contract managing external consultants delivering heritage studies and projects
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.
- Tertiary qualifications in Heritage Conservation, Architecture, Town Planning or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in heritage planning, conservation or a related field
- Previous Local Government experience is essential
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure
