The Role:
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work with participants under the NDIS who are aiming to return to work and improve their overall independence and quality of life. The client specialises in supporting individuals through this transition using targeted, evidence-based behaviour support.
In this role, you will conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop tailored positive behaviour support plans that align with each participant’s vocational goals and individual needs. You will implement and review interventions designed to reduce behaviours of concern and strengthen sustainable daily functioning, particularly in preparation for employment.
You will collaborate closely with participants, families, support networks, and allied health professionals to ensure consistent, practical strategies are embedded across all environments. A strong focus of the role is on proactively identifying and reducing restrictive practices while promoting autonomy, skill development, and long-term community and workplace participation.
Essential Criteria:
Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or related allied health field desirable
Registration with NDIS as a Behaviour Support Practitioner - Core or above
Demonstrated experience in behaviour support within the NDIS
Experience conducting functional behaviour assessments and developing PBS plans
Strong understanding of restrictive practices and relevant legislation
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Working With Children Check & National Police Check
Strong clinical reasoning and report writing skills
