Bedliner Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Spray/Application)
- Apply Vortex and undercoating to vehicle bodies and parts using pressure-feed spray equipment and related spray systems.
- Set up, operate, and fine-tune spray equipment to achieve proper pattern, atomization, flow, and coating thickness.
- Ensure coatings meet required coverage, adhesion, and finish standards; correct application issues as needed (runs, thin spots, inconsistencies, etc.).
- Confirm the correct materials are used per work order and requirements (product type, build thickness, and application instructions).
- Inspect completed sprayed work to verify quality and consistency before moving to the next step in production.
- Maintain spray equipment and work area (basic daily care/cleaning, organizing hoses/guns, keeping the booth/work area safe and operational).
- Follow all safety requirements, including wearing a respirator, paint suit, and required PPE.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste from coating processes in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Participate in continuous improvement by suggesting ways to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Bedliner Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent mobility and/or prolonged standing; bending/stooping as needed.
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift/carry up to 75 lbs.
- Work in areas that may not be ventilated or air-conditioned.
- Regular exposure to chemicals and solvents.
- Requires strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate spray equipment.
- May require working irregular hours and in a fast-paced environment.
- Hearing within normal range required.
Bedliner Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Automotive paint spraying experience required (application-focused).
- Pressure-feed spray equipment experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to apply consistent coatings to spec.
- Ability to use hand/power tools and shop equipment.
- Ability to operate a forklift if required.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and meet production deadlines.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and communicate efficiently.
- Ability to successfully complete a respirator medical evaluation.
- Ability to pass a general abilities assessment and post-offer background check, physical, and drug screen.
- Monday - Friday 6am-2:30pm
- Pay: $20-$35+ per hour based on experience
- Location: West Bottoms Kansas City, Missouri
