This global, fast-paced, high volume retail and service business
is looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join its finance team for an 8 month fixed term.
This is a hands-on finance project role sitting outside of BAU, focused on process improvement, balance sheet remediation, systems/workflow improvements and SOP development. You'll be getting under the hood of how things currently work, identifying what's not working and implementing practical improvements.

You'll be getting under the hood of how things currently work, identifying what's not working and implementing practical improvements.
The role: You'll work closely with finance and operational teams across a range of projects, including:
- Reviewing finance processes and identifying opportunities to simplify and improve them.
- Working through balance sheet reconciliation issues and clearing an existing backlog.
- Investigating high-volume transaction flows across sales, customer payments, finance companies and servicing.
- Improving month-end processes, controls and GL mappings.
- Finding practical workarounds within the existing inhouse finance management system.
- Developing clear and consistent SOPs across the finance function.
You'll ideally bring:
- Strong financial accounting and balance sheet experience
- Proven process and systems improvement capability
- Experience in a high-volume transactional environment - retail or franchise would be ideal
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working across different systems.
- An analytical, inquisitive and practical approach
- The ability to work independently, ask the right questions and get things moving
- CA/CPA preferred, although strong QBE candidates will be considered
- Power BI would be a bonus
