Job description
Cook healthy and nutritious meals for children aged 0-5 as a casual chef in Early Learning

The Role:
  • 2 week block coverage
  • Accomodation will be provided close by to the centre
  • Prepare healthy and nutritious meals for children aged 0-5
  • Sole charge of the kitchen to prepare, cook and clean for up to 140 children on a day 
  • Prepare separate meals for children with food allergies and intolerances 
  • Demonstrate efficient time management to ensure all meals are prepared on time 
  • Shifts range between 7am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. 
Essential criteria for this role
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Food Handling certificate
  • EXPERIENCE COOKING IN EARLY LEARNING SERVICES / Similar setting
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee);
  • Geccko National Child Safety Certificate
  • Flexible and a 'can-do' approach towards your role
Ideally, you will have experience planning and preparing nutritional meals for children aged 0-5 years, and knowledge of preparing separate meals for children with food allergies and intolerances. You will have the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
