Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia is recruiting on behalf of a leading national mining company with a core focus on mining. As expansion continues, our client is seeking a GM Business Development professional with at least 20 years’ experience with a mining company for the job of GM Business Development. The job is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Key job responsibilities include:

• Directly reports to the BOD
• Prepare an annual work plan by referring to the company strategic plan to ensure the suitability between the work plan and the strategic plan
• Plan, manage, and review all business processes within the unit to ensure the fulfillment of KPI targets and adherence to the company’s established values; this includes managing the performance of subordinates to ensure the unit’s overall performance meets the targets set by management
• Manage and review the unit’s strategic plans and work budgets (CAPEX & OPEX) to ensure they are aligned with the company’s management-level work plans
• Oversee the development of technical procedures and strategies relevant to the unit’s functions, ensuring they comply with applicable quality standards and the company’s management system
• Map the critical approvals, remove bottlenecks, and drive permits / regulatory milestones to the required business timeline.
• Lead complex negotiation and cross functional issue resolution until there is a clear, executable outcome.
• Build credible institutional relationships, read stakeholder dynamics early, and convert engagement into business enablement.
• Provide direction regarding the marketing strategy to be carried out including the approach to prospective customers and competitors, to expand the company's network and business strategy.
• Provide direction in the tender negotiation process with the BOD, customers, and involving related departments, to achieve a cooperation agreement.
• Identify various potential project prospects using methodologies and tools that can predict profitability, ROIC, and risk identification and mitigation analysis, so that they can provide recommendations for new projects to management to support optimum business development for the Company.
• Provide direction in reviewing contract documents by ensuring that the terms listed in the contract represent the interests of each party to support the sustainability of the Company's business.
• Create standardization of business development business processes to provide guidelines for workers

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, or related field
• Minimum 20 years combined experience in business development in mining or energy sector
• Strong exposure to mining / coal / energy or another heavily regulated sector
• Owned or materially led critical permits / approvals to completion
• Led complex negotiations with clear business outcome / closure
• Credible government / regulator stakeholder management
• People leadership and cross-functional orchestration capability
• Skill on overall general management with a focus on mining
• Strong ability to coordinate and communicate with his team and also across to other departments/ companies (matrix organization)
• Capability to work independently (analyse, plan, action, control) with initiative and creativity to ensure operational excellence
• Strong exposure in Business Contract and Tendering Course, Business Analysis, Negotiation Skill, Marketing Strategy, and Economical Mining
• English language, international business experience highly desirable
• Team player, positive attitude, hands-on and high flexibility
• Willing to travel frequently to all mining site
