Site Engineer

FRS Recruitment are working with a leading Waterford developer to recruit an experienced Site Engineer for a strong and growing pipeline of projects across Waterford City and County.

The successful candidate is expected to initially join the team on a major hotel redevelopment in Waterford City. This unique project will involve the transformation of an existing hotel into a modern, high-quality hospitality development, incorporating a number of important heritage elements throughout the works.

The development will include extensive structural and refurbishment works, alongside a full-scale remodel across five floors, providing the Site Engineer with excellent technical exposure from the early construction stages through to fit-out and completion.

Beyond the hotel development, the company has an extensive pipeline of work across Waterford City and County, including private and public housing, innovative commercial developments, leisure projects and further major construction works.

This is an excellent long-term opportunity for an Engineer looking to remain based in Waterford, work across a diverse range of projects and potential for progression within the company.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years building experience within Ireland / UK Construction industries, along with proficiency in Setting Out (Total Stations/GPS).

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out across all relevant construction works.
• Review drawings, levels and dimensions for construction accuracy.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, civil and services information.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor works against agreed specifications.
• Maintain engineering records, inspections, surveys and as-built information.
• Implement QA procedures and maintain high workmanship standards.
• Raise RFIs and assist with resolving technical site issues.
• Support Site Management with programme and subcontractor coordination.

Requirements

• 3+ years' Site Engineering experience within building projects.
• Irish or UK construction experience is highly advantageous.
• Relevant Civil Engineering or Construction qualification highly desirable.
• Strong experience with Total Stations & GPS is highly desirable.
• Strong setting out and construction drawing experience required.
• Refurbishment or commercial building experience would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of QA and Irish Building Regulations.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills required.
