Senior Financial Accountant - S/4HANA Finance Lead

Join a large, complex and asset-intensive organisation as it undertakes a significant SAP S/4HANA implementation.

The role
Representing Financial Control, you will help ensure the new system is designed, tested and implemented with robust accounting processes, reporting and controls. The project is currently entering the design phase, with an initial migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA followed by a broader transformation programme.
This is a dedicated project position with no BAU accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent Financial Control throughout the S/4HANA implementation
• Lead the finance input into fixed assets and project accounting
• Review general ledger, reporting, master data and process design
• Ensure sound financial controls and governance are embedded in the new system
• Support solution design, data migration, testing, cutover and go-live
• Identify accounting, reporting and control risks and recommend practical solutions
• Work closely with finance, technology, project, audit and implementation stakeholders

Key Requirements:

• CA Qualified
• Hands-on SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration, upgrade or transformation experience
• Strong fixed-asset accounting experience, ideally across a large asset base
• Knowledge of SAP Asset Accounting and capital/project accounting
• A strong understanding of general ledger, financial reporting and financial controls
• Experience working in a complex, regulated or asset-intensive organisation
• The ability to translate accounting requirements into practical system and process solutions
• Confident stakeholder management and strong documentation skills

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a major finance transformation programme. The initial term is expected to be at least 12 months, with the potential to extend to 18 months or longer.
