What the job entails

As a Heavy Equipment Repair Specialist, you will maintain and repair diesel-powered mobile equipment at Martin Marietta’s operation in Petroleum, West Virginia. You will troubleshoot mechanical faults, complete repairs and rebuilds, remove and install mechanical components, and carry out preventative maintenance across a range of quarry and construction equipment.

You will work with CAT, Komatsu and Volvo machinery and diesel engines, using a wide variety of hand and power tools. The role also includes welding, cutting and minor fabrication on plant and mobile equipment, alongside other duties as assigned. Safety is central to the position, and you will be expected to work safely at all times in a surface and/or underground mine environment. This is a full-time, on-site position generally requiring 40 or more hours per week.

Key requirements / What we look for

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid US driving licence.
• At least five years’ experience repairing CAT, Komatsu and Volvo quarry or construction equipment and diesel engines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safe use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to weld, cut and perform minor fabrication.
• Trade school certification and mining experience preferred; bilingual ability and a CDL with a clean driving record are advantageous.
