Anaesthetics Registrar - Regional Victoria, Australia 2027

An excellent training opportunity is available for two Anaesthetics Registrars to join a large regional health service in Victoria, Australia. These positions offer exposure to a broad caseload across multiple surgical specialties within a supportive teaching environment accredited for all phases of ANZCA training.
Position Details

• Position: Anaesthetics Registrar
• Location: Regional Victoria, Australia
• Employment Type: Full-Time Fixed Term
• Contract Dates: 1 February 2027 – 6 February 2028
• Positions Available: 2
• Classification: HM25 – HM30
• Salary: As per award
• Hours: 86 hours per fortnight (including 10 hours protected training time)

The Role
This position offers the opportunity to work within a well-established anaesthetic department alongside approximately 12 registrars and 25 specialist anaesthetists, providing anaesthesia services to a large regional population.
Registrars will gain experience across a wide range of specialties including:

• General Surgery
• Orthopaedics
• ENT
• Thoracics
• Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Urology
• Paediatrics
• Dental Surgery
• Interventional Radiology
• Endoscopy
• Cardiology and Cath Lab procedures

The role also includes involvement in:

• Obstetric analgesia
• Perioperative medicine
• Acute pain management
• In-hours and after-hours theatre support

Training & Career Development
The department is accredited for all stages of ANZCA training, including:

• Introductory Training
• Basic Training
• Advanced Training

Up to 24 months of accredited training time is available. These posts are particularly suited to independent registrars seeking Advanced Training opportunities, although exceptional candidates at Introductory level may also be considered.
