Boomi Solution Architect | Integration & API Platform Programme

We are seeking an experienced Boomi Solution Architect to support the adoption and evolution of a strategic enterprise integration platform within a large-scale government environment.
This is a client-side architecture role requiring a strong blend of technical expertise, integration architecture leadership, governance, and stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for driving the adoption of strategic integration capabilities across multiple programmes, ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and avoid the proliferation of point-to-point integrations.
The successful candidate will possess deep expertise across Boomi iPaaS, API Management, Event Streaming, Integration Architecture, and Enterprise Governance, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Architecture & Project Onboarding

• Support the onboarding of strategic programmes onto the enterprise integration platform.
• Produce solution designs aligned with approved integration, API and event streaming patterns.
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide design recommendations.
• Support projects throughout discovery, design and implementation phases.
• Ensure adoption of strategic integration capabilities over tactical point-to-point solutions.

API Management & Governance

• Design and implement API management and lifecycle governance processes.
• Define standards for API design, security, versioning, observability and publication.
• Support the development of strategic API catalogues and reusable API products.
• Drive consistency and governance across API delivery teams.

Event-Driven Architecture

• Define event streaming architecture standards and implementation guidance.
• Establish governance models for event taxonomy, topic management and event ownership.
• Support onboarding of initial event-driven use cases.
• Create reusable event streaming patterns for wider organisational adoption.

Integration Standards & Reusable Assets

• Develop reusable implementation patterns, templates and reference architectures.
• Create architecture guidance covering:
  • API integrations
  • Event-driven integrations
  • Managed File Transfer (MFT)
  • Hybrid connectivity solutions
  • Security and authentication models
• Produce onboarding accelerators and implementation guidance for delivery teams.

Technical Leadership

• Provide architecture leadership, coaching and technical direction to engineering teams.
• Review solution designs and challenge implementation approaches where required.
• Support agile delivery teams through design reviews and technical decision-making.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal delivery teams to ensure architectural alignment.

Operational Readiness & DevSecOps

• Define architecture requirements covering:
  • Observability
  • Monitoring
  • Logging
  • Alerting
  • Resilience
  • Disaster Recovery
  • DevSecOps integration
• Support production readiness and operational assurance activities.
• Ensure solutions meet security, resiliency and operational standards.

Governance & Assurance

• Establish architecture review and assurance processes.
• Define technical standards, guardrails and compliance criteria.
• Support Technical Design Authority (TDA) and Design Authority governance activities.
• Ensure delivered solutions align with enterprise architecture principles.

Platform Roadmap & Continuous Improvement

• Identify capability gaps and opportunities across integration, API and streaming platforms.
• Support roadmap development and future platform evolution.
• Contribute to proofs of concept and emerging technology evaluations.
• Provide recommendations for strategic platform enhancements.

Data Sharing Solution Design

• Analyse data-sharing requirements and associated constraints.
• Develop integration-led solution options using API, iPaaS and event streaming capabilities.
• Produce end-to-end solution designs covering:
  • Data flows
  • Integration patterns
  • Security controls
  • Governance requirements
  • Assurance considerations
• Support transition from discovery into delivery.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Boomi Solution Architect, Integration Architect, or Enterprise Integration Architect.
• Strong expertise in Boomi AtomSphere/iPaaS.
• Experience designing and governing enterprise integration platforms.
• Strong API Management architecture experience.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and event streaming patterns.
• Knowledge of integration security, authentication and governance frameworks.
• Experience creating reusable architecture patterns and standards.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
• Experience supporting architecture assurance and governance forums.
• Hands-on involvement in large-scale integration transformation programmes.

Desirable Experience

• Public sector or government programme experience.
• Experience working within highly governed environments.
• Exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks and design authority processes.
• Experience working with supplier and multi-vendor delivery models.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and modern cloud integration practices.

Security Clearance

• Candidates must be SC Cleared or eligible for SC Clearance.
