Senior Accountant 2023

As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with our Japanese and US accounting teams to assist in the financial statement reporting, accounts payables and receivables, fixed asset accounting, and tax and audit compliance as needed. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. 

What you will do

• Perform day-to-day accounting and accounting-related activities such as accounts payables and receivables
• Prepare payments in the banking system
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes following Japan GAAP principles, prepare group reporting package (including balance sheet and income statement reconciliations), and perform account analysis
• Prepare data and documents for audit and tax returns
• Track intercompany transactions and reconcile balances
• Provide suggestions and execute process improvements to strengthen internal controls
• Coordinates with other teams to ensure the timely recording of transactions and the integrity and accuracy of financial reports
• Other ad-hoc finance-related activities as assigned

Requirements

What we are looking for

• 5 years of prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
• Nissho Boki level 3 or higher
• Fluent communication skills in Japanese and business-level English language proficiency
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Team player with leadership
• Solid PC user, especially with MS Excel
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite preferred
