Job Summary
The Ingersoll Rand Finance Team is seeking a Plant Controller with strong SAP experience to lead all financial activities for our Mocksville, NC site. Reporting to the Director, Operations Finance, with a dotted-line relationship to the Operations Leader, this individual will serve as a trusted finance business partner and play a key role in driving manufacturing cost efficiencies, revenue growth, margin expansion, and net working capital optimization. The Mocksville facility manufactures a diverse portfolio of compressed air products and manages approximately $250M+ in annual trade shipments, along with an additional $50M+ in intercompany transactions. The site includes leadership oversight across both machining and assembly operations, creating a dynamic environment where finance has a direct and meaningful impact on operational performance.
As a high-impact opportunity, the Plant Controller will help set the financial tone for the site and influence decisions beyond traditional plant accounting. The ideal candidate will bring a strong balance of accounting and finance capability, along with a passion for elevating analytics, streamlining processes, and executing strategies that move the business forward. Highly collaborative in nature, this role requires excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain financial concepts while also understanding the manufacturing and commercial priorities that drive the business. The successful candidate will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves while also thinking strategically and seeing the bigger picture.

Responsibilities:
- Control Environment: Uphold strong financial controls through strict adherence to all existing SOX narratives, collaborating with internal/external audit teams to proactively identify and address potential deficiencies.
- Safeguard of Assets: Implement and execute policies and fulfill fiduciary duties to safeguard all plant assets.
- Statutory Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP, corporate policies, and standardized procedures.
- Managerial Reporting: Deliver incisive month-end analytical reports that clarify the financial results, highlight trends, identify risks, and pinpoint opportunities.
- Corporate Finance Liaison: Provide prompt and precise responses to inquiries from shared financial services.
- Forecasting / Budgeting: Assist in creating reliable forecasts and budgets to guide plant operations.
- Business Partnership: Engage in and lead business process initiatives, such as Ingersoll Rand Execution Excellence (IRX), to achieve both immediate and long-term goals while enhancing financial literacy among local leadership.
- Deploy Talent: Foster a work environment that motivates the team towards corporate goals, nurtures talent development, and ensures operational continuity through strategic personnel planning. Leverage IR talent processes for recruitment, onboarding, and team advancement, while prioritizing engagement, diversity, and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 7+ years’ experience in the Finance/ Accounting field
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environments.
- 3+ years’ of experience leading finance and accounting teams, with a focus on team management and development.
- Compliance and Project Management experience, with proven track record in SOX compliance, audit engagements, and effective project management.

- Ability to drive performance through others and support colleagues in pursuit of the team goal while ensuring a focus on deliverables
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability influence and coach teams towards financial objectives.
- Strong numerical skills, analytical thinking, careful structured approach applying accounting acumen related to a manufacturing environment
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related Business Concentrations.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, SAP preferred, demonstrating a strong grasp of technology in financial operations.
- Expertise in Excel, HFM, Essbase, and familiarity with data warehouses and business intelligence tools.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to drive financial objectives, combined with sharp analytical thinking and a detailed understanding of accounting in a manufacturing context.
