Details:

  • Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Location: Amarillo, TX
  • Facility: TDCJ William P. Clements Unit
  • Setting: Corrections
  • Contract: Ongoing
  • Schedule: 12-hour Day Shift, 4 on / 4 off rotation (alternating 36/48-hour weeks)
  • Pay:
    • Local: $50+/hour
    • Travel (50+ miles from facility):
      • W2: $21/hour
      • Weekly Travel Stipend (non-taxed): $1,246
      • Total Weekly Pay (36hr week): $2,002
      • Total Weekly Pay (48hr week): $2,446
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of RN experience
  • Texas or Compact RN License
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct physical assessments, monitor vital signs, and assess the health needs of new inmates or those with existing conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient adherence and reactions.
  • Provide immediate care for illnesses and injuries and determine the need for physician intervention.
  • Educate inmates on preventative healthcare, healthy lifestyles, and managing their conditions.
  • Manage the ongoing care of inmates, including developing and executing care plans.
  • Respond to medical emergencies within the facility.
