Site Engineer (Civils)

FRS Recruitment, working closely with our client, are seeking a Site Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse range of infrastructure and construction projects across the Midlands.

Part of a highly regarded civil engineering group with a strong reputation throughout Ireland, our client has secured a strong pipeline of work across multiple sectors. Projects include residential developments, retail and commercial construction, demolition works, drainage infrastructure, road improvement schemes, motorway upgrades, and associated civil engineering groundworks.

This position offers good variety, with the successful candidate gaining exposure to a broad range of project types while working alongside an experienced engineering team that places a strong emphasis on mentoring, professional development and long-term career progression.

Projects are based throughout the Midlands, with the Laois being the operational hub, allowing for reasonable commuting distances to current sites. Overall, there is a good blend between office and site.

Responsibilities

• Set out works in accordance with project drawings and specifications
• Coordinate subcontractors and site activities on live projects
• Ensure works are completed to programme and quality standards
• Maintain accurate site records and engineering documentation
• Carry out site inspections and quality control checks
• Liaise with project managers, site teams and design consultants
• Assist with health and safety compliance across projects
• Resolve technical issues and support project delivery

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Previous experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects, ideally in Ireland or UK Construction industry
• Strong setting out and surveying experience
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience with Total Stations and GPS highly desirable
• Full driving licence
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Motivated to develop within a growing civil engineering contractor
