Base Rate to Candidate: (up to) $51.52 + OT

Have you ever fixed a leaking tap or seen a plumber repair a burst pipe? As a Water Operator, you'll be solving similar problems on a much larger scale—helping maintain the essential water infrastructure that supplies homes, businesses, and communities every day.

This is a hands-on role where you'll spend much of your time outdoors inspecting, maintaining, and repairing water and wastewater assets. From locating and fixing faults in pipelines to upgrading network infrastructure, you'll play a critical role in ensuring reliable water services for the community.

Beyond the practical work, you'll gain valuable technical skills and experience that can open pathways into specialist, supervisory, management, or leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, monitor, and repair water and wastewater assets, operational sites, and public facilities.
  • Identify and rectify faults within the water supply network, including pipelines, joints, and service connections.
  • Assist with network upgrades and infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Participate in safe work planning, toolbox meetings, and workplace inspections.
  • Ensure all work is carried out with safety as the highest priority, maintaining a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver reliable water services to the community.
  • Participate in overtime and on-call rosters as required.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A current HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver's Lience.
  • Experience in civil construction, water supply, wastewater systems, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach to work.
  • A commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
  • The ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment.
