Key Responsibilities of the Bid Manager
- Identify and pursue tender opportunities across commercial solar, storage, and EV charging markets.
- Manage the end-to-end bid process including RFQ responses, site inspections, and bid preparation.
- Develop high quality, competitive tender submissions that reflect the business's capabilities and track record.
- Conduct site visits to inform bid accuracy and constructability considerations.
- Maintain and continuously improve internal bid processes, templates, and documentation.
- Build and manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the bid process.
- Track market activity and provide insight on upcoming opportunities and competitor positioning.
- Work closely with commercial, design, and delivery teams to ensure bids are technically sound and commercially competitive.
- Proven experience in a bid management, estimating, or business development role within the renewable energy, construction, or capital equipment sectors.
- Strong understanding of the bid and tender process from identification through to submission.
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and deliver high quality submissions under deadline pressure.
- Commercially minded with the ability to justify pricing, margins, and strategic bid decisions.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable conducting site visits and translating site observations into bid inputs.
- Self-motivated and results driven with a track record of winning work.
- Experience in commercial solar, storage, EV charging, or C&I construction highly regarded.
- Based in Melbourne or willing to be.
