The successful candidate will first and foremost be a strong electrical engineer with a solid understanding of power systems, electrical equipment, design deliverables and project execution. You will also have an interest in using Python, automation and emerging AI technologies to improve engineering workflows.
The role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, reviewing electrical designs and calculations while helping develop practical digital solutions for engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Review one-line diagrams, equipment specifications, electrical calculations, design drawings and technical studies
-
Assess engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness and constructability
-
Support utility-scale BESS and other inverter-based resource projects
-
Provide engineering expertise across batteries, power conversion systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, cables, grounding, protection, controls and auxiliary power systems
-
Apply electrical engineering fundamentals to equipment sizing and system configuration
-
Support power flow, short-circuit, voltage drop, cable ampacity and reactive power considerations
-
Support the resolution of electrical design, equipment, construction, commissioning and operational issues
-
Perform or support root-cause analysis relating to equipment failures, design deficiencies and system performance
-
Coordinate technical engineering deliverables with internal and external engineering teams
-
Identify repetitive or manual engineering activities that could be improved through automation
-
Develop and maintain engineering calculation tools, applications, data-validation utilities, dashboards and workflow automation
-
Use Python and other appropriate technologies to translate engineering methodologies into practical digital tools
-
Develop tools supporting design reviews, engineering calculations, equipment comparisons, data-quality checks, requirements tracking and technical decision-making
-
Apply engineering judgment to validate software-generated calculations and outputs
-
Establish appropriate testing, documentation, version-control and change-management practices for engineering tools
-
Gather requirements from engineers and other technical stakeholders and translate them into effective solutions
-
Explore practical applications of AI-assisted development within engineering workflows
-
Ensure appropriate technical validation and human review of automated engineering outputs
What we're looking for
