- Customer interaction: Serve as a technical point of contact for internal and external customers, effectively communicating design intent, technical constraints, trade-offs, and project status to audiences with varying technical backgrounds.
- Product validation: Build centrifugal compressor prototypes to be used for pre-production testing and verification, implementing any lessons learned during the build into the design.
- Travel: Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 5%.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of related design or product development experience with a strong foundation in mechanical design, machine design, mechanics of materials, manufacturing processes, and/or engineering fundamentals, with a proven track record of delivering released designs.
- Demonstrated experience with centrifugal compressor components, pressure-containing equipment, rotating equipment, or packaged equipment design is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with finite element analysis, tolerance analysis, design automation, and/or computer programming is a plus.
- Hands-on proficiency with CAD and PLM systems (NX and Teamcenter) is strongly preferred.
Core Competencies:
- Strong working knowledge of computer systems and basic Microsoft Office.
- Strong command of the English language and the ability to clearly communicate in writing and speech with peers, leadership, and internal/external customers.

- Ability to perform critical mental tasks such as decision-making, prioritizing, organizing, and exercising sound judgment to align work with business objectives.
