CQC Inspector Location: Flexible/Regular travel across the UK Salary: £300 per day Possible Perm following 6 Month Interim About the Role Are you passionate about improving the quality of health and social care? Do you have the experience and professional judgement to assess services against regulatory standards and help ensure people receive safe, effective, compassionate, and high-quality care? As a CQC Inspector, you will play a key role in monitoring, inspecting, and regulating health and adult social care services. You will work with providers, people who use services, and partners to ensure organisations deliver care that is safe, caring, responsive, effective, and well-led. This is an opportunity to make a real difference by promoting high standards of care and driving improvement across the sector. Key Responsibilities Plan, undertake, and lead inspections of health and social care providers. Assess evidence against CQC's regulatory framework and fundamental standards. Produce high-quality inspection reports that are accurate, balanced, and evidence-based. Make sound regulatory judgements and recommend appropriate enforcement action where required. Engage with providers, people using services, families, carers, and stakeholders to gather evidence and understand experiences of care. Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to support effective regulation. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, policy, and best practice within health and social care. Manage a varied caseload while meeting deadlines and maintaining high professional standards. About You We're looking for individuals who can demonstrate: Essential Criteria Significant experience within health or adult social care, either in a clinical, operational, quality assurance, governance, or regulatory role. Strong knowledge of health and social care legislation, regulation, and quality standards. Excellent analytical and investigative skills with the ability to evaluate complex information. Outstanding written communication skills with experience producing detailed reports. The confidence to challenge appropriately and make evidence-based decisions. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships while maintaining independence and objectivity. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within your region. Desirable Criteria Previous inspection, audit, compliance, or regulatory experience. Experience of safeguarding and risk assessment. Knowledge of CQC's Single Assessment Framework and regulatory processes. Professional registration with a recognised health or social care body where applicable.
