About the Role:
This Key Account Manager role is responsible for growing and strengthening relationships across a portfolio of key customers. Working closely with branches, leadership, and internal stakeholders, you'll drive profitable growth through strategic account management, disciplined sales execution, and exceptional customer engagement. The role requires someone who enjoys building long-term partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and influencing positive commercial outcomes while supporting wider branch success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, retain, and grow key customer accounts through proactive relationship management
- Identify customer needs, commercial opportunities, and strategies to increase share of wallet
- Execute structured sales plans to drive revenue growth and customer retention
- Support branches with customer visits, proposals, presentations, and sales opportunities
- Maintain pricing discipline and contribute to margin performance across accounts
- Mentor and support sales teams to strengthen capability and customer outcomes
- Monitor sales performance and maintain accurate customer information within CRM systems
- Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to maximise customer engagement and business opportunities
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in Sales, Key Account Management, Business Development, or B2B sales
- Strong track record of achieving sales targets and delivering revenue growth
- Exceptional relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Commercially aware with the ability to understand pricing, margins, and business performance
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Experience using CRM, and Microsoft Office systems
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously while contributing to team success
- Must be a permanent resident or citizen of NZ
