Financial Accountant – 3 Month Contract (Immediate Start)

We’re working with a well-regarded organisation seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team on a 3-month contract, with an immediate start required. There is a strong possibility this role could transition into a permanent position for the right person.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail, supporting month-end processes, and helping the team through a busy end-of-financial-year period.

The Role

Reporting into a supportive Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end close activities
  • Preparation work for end of financial year (EOFY)
  • Journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Supporting audit preparation and documentation
  • Assisting with accruals and prepayments
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Providing general support across the finance team as required

About You

  • Prior experience in a Financial Accountant or Assistant Accountant role
  • Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Able to hit the ground running and work autonomously
  • Immediately available or on short notice
