Site Engineer (Waterford)

FRS Recruitment are working with a leading Waterford-based Construction Company to recruit an experienced Site Engineer to join their growing team, working across a strong pipeline of residential, commercial and refurbishment projects throughout Waterford City.

The company has an excellent reputation in the region, with an extensive portfolio of completed and ongoing projects, including private and public housing, large-scale residential developments, commercial buildings, leisure facilities and major refurbishment works.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of construction projects in Waterford City, with a particular focus on residential and commercial building developments.

One of the company's upcoming projects also includes a major hotel redevelopment in the county, involving extensive structural alterations, refurbishment works and the transformation of an existing building into a modern hospitality development, while retaining important heritage features.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer looking to remain based in Waterford, gain exposure to a variety of interesting building projects and develop their career with an established construction company.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' Site Engineering experience within the Irish or UK construction industry, ideally across residential, commercial or general building projects, along with strong setting out capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out across residential and commercial construction projects.
• Review drawings, levels and dimensions to ensure construction accuracy.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, civil and building services information.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor works against agreed specifications.
• Maintain engineering records, inspections, surveys and as-built documentation.
• Implement QA procedures and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Raise RFIs and assist with resolving technical site issues.
• Support Site Management with programmes, planning and subcontractor coordination.

Requirements

• 3+ years' Site Engineering experience across building construction projects.
• Previous experience within the Irish or UK construction industry.
• Relevant Civil Engineering or Construction qualification is highly desirable.
• Experience with Total Stations & GPS is highly desirable.
• Strong setting out and construction drawing interpretation skills required.
• Residential, commercial or refurbishment project experience would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of QA procedures and Irish Building Regulations.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential.
