Business Excellence & Operations Consultant – Patient Health Innovation

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (1–2 days onsite per week); remote candidates will also be considered for highly qualified individuals.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Business Excellence & Operations Consultant to support the Patient Health Innovation (PHI) organization within a leading healthcare company's Commercial Excellence & Innovation team. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, strategic execution, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure key business initiatives are delivered efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, strategic thinker with strong project management, executive communication, and business operations experience. This individual will partner with senior leadership to coordinate strategic initiatives, improve operational processes, and support executive decision-making through effective planning, communication, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior leadership in coordinating strategic initiatives and operational priorities.
  • Track team action items, deliverables, milestones, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, status updates, meeting materials, and communications.
  • Develop meeting agendas, meeting recaps, and follow-up communications.
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely execution.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across internal business teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify operational risks, process gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead business process improvement initiatives, including opportunities to leverage AI and automation.
  • Drive operational discipline, accountability, and execution excellence across the organization.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives and special projects.
  • Manage recurring leadership meetings, team meetings, and shared operational documentation.
  • Maintain project documentation and support business process standardization.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with approximately 5 years of relevant professional experience, or
  • Master's degree or MBA with approximately 2–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing projects from planning through execution.
  • Strong business operations or business process improvement experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience supporting executive-level audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including:
    • PowerPoint
    • Excel
    • Outlook
    • Microsoft Teams
    • SharePoint
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership mindset with experience coordinating work across multiple stakeholders.

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Experience within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or the broader healthcare industry.
  • Commercial healthcare or life sciences experience.
  • Experience working in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Experience supporting senior executives and executive leadership meetings.
  • Continuous improvement or operational excellence experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Balance approximately 50% meetings and 50% independent project work.
  • Prepare executive presentations, communications, and leadership materials.
  • Support strategic initiatives and business operations activities.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams across several stakeholders.
  • Facilitate team meetings, leadership meetings, and organizational communications.
  • Track project progress, deliverables, and operational metrics.
  • Develop process documentation and improve team workflows.
  • Partner with approximately five core stakeholders while occasionally supporting larger cross-functional initiatives.
