Job Overview:
The Senior IT Project Manager leads the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise IT initiatives across Ingersoll Rand’s global infrastructure, systems, and digital transformation portfolio. Sitting within the IT organization, this role is a critical partner to IT leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring technology projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to Ingersoll Rand’s mission of Making Life Better.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project management for enterprise IT initiatives including cloud migrations, infrastructure deployments, M365 implementations, and Network Refresh— driving on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Define and maintain detailed project plans, resource schedules, risk registers, and status communications for executive and technical stakeholders.
- Partner with I/O leadership, business process owners, and external vendors to align project scope, timelines, and success metrics to business objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships and hold third-party partners accountable to contractual SLAs, milestones, and deliverable quality standards.
- Identify, track, and actively mitigate project risks and issues; escalate blockers and recommend corrective actions to maintain project momentum.
- Champion IT governance and project portfolio management standards, ensuring adherence to change management processes and compliance requirements.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and change adoption, developing communications and training materials that support successful technology transitions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; PMP certification or equivalent.
- 5+ years of IT project management experience leading enterprise-level technology projects such as cloud migrations, ERP implementations, infrastructure programs, or digital transformation initiatives.
- 5+ years with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Agile, PMP, or PRINCE2).
Core Competencies:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of presenting project status, risk, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed organization.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to connect IT initiatives to business outcomes and organizational priorities.
- Results-driven ownership mindset with a bias for action and accountability.
- Collaborative leadership that builds trust with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive sponsors.
- Adaptability and resilience in navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and fast-paced environments.
Preferences:
- Experience in industrial manufacturing or OT/IoT-adjacent IT environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, or other cloud platform project delivery.
- Experience with Network and other I/O Hardware refresh.
- Experience with IT vendor contract management and SOW governance.
- Experience with enterprise ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
- Remote with travel up to 25%
