We are currently recruiting for an experienced Band saw Setter/Operator in Stourbridge.

Working hours: 7:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday / 7:45am-3:45pm Friday

Pay rate: DOE

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Your duties as a Band saw Setter/Operator will include:

  • Operate band saw machinery to cut carbon steels
  • Set up and adjust saw blades, tooling and fixtures for different cutting tasks
  • Ensure all cuts meet quality standards by inspecting finished products
  • Assist with material handling including loading and unloading raw materials
  • Conducting routine machine maintenance, cleaning work areas and strict adherence to health and safety (PPE, Safe handling)
  • Must be prepared to help with other associated jobs during quiet periods

To be successful in the role of Band saw setter/operator, you will need:

  • Experience setting and operating band saw machinery
  • Overhead crane license - If you have an expired license or inhouse license (proof required) but experience, this can be refreshed at the company.
  • FLT license (advantage but not a necessity)
  • Good level of Maths and English
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists
  • Mechanical aptitude for blade changes and basic machine adjustments
  • Computer literate
