Description:
We are seeking hard-working, reliable General Laborers to join our field installation crew. In this role, you will be on the front lines of transforming empty student housing and commercial properties into fully furnished spaces. Your daily tasks will include unloading freight containers, moving heavy furniture components up multiple floors, unboxing items, and assembling furniture using hand and power tools. This is a highly physical, fast-paced role that requires a strong work ethic, a team-first attitude, and a commitment to safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Loading & Unloading: Manually unload large freight containers and delivery trucks packed with furniture pieces, mattresses, and hardware.
Staging & Distribution: Safely transport furniture units, desks, chairs, and beds from staging areas to specific rooms and floors, often utilizing stairwells, dollies, and ramps.
Assembly & Installation: Assemble wood and metal furniture (beds, desks, wardrobes, nightstands) efficiently by following diagrams and using basic hand/power tools (impact drivers, rubber mallets, Allen wrenches).
Debris & Waste Removal: Keep the job site safe and clean by continuously unboxing items, breaking down large cardboard boxes, and disposing of trash and protective packaging material.
Quality Check Support: Set up furniture exactly according to room layouts and assist the Team Lead in checking for any missing hardware or surface scratches before a room is signed off.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform continuous heavy lifting (must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs independently).
Mobility: Comfort standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs for 8–10 hours a day in active construction or active moving environments.
Tool Familiarity: Basic experience using basic hand tools and cordless power drills safely.
Dependability: Punctuality is critical. You must have reliable transportation to get to the dispatch location or assigned job sites on time every day.
Teamwork: Ability to take direction well from the Team Lead, work cooperatively in pairs to carry heavy items, and maintain a positive attitude under tight deadliness.
Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old. No prior experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided.
Working Conditions Note: This role involves working in active building zones. Environments can occasionally be hot or dusty depending on the status of the building's climate control, so a high tolerance for varying physical conditions is required.
