Public Sector People are partnering with a Melbourne council to recruit an experienced Senior Statutory Planner to join their team on a temporary contract.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced planner to step into a busy statutory planning team, managing more complex applications and providing high-quality planning advice across the municipality.
The Role
  • Assess and process complex planning and subdivision applications
  • Manage planning permits, amendments, extensions and Section 173 Agreements
  • Prepare clear and concise delegate and Council reports
  • Provide technical planning advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent Council at VCAT where required
  • Support and mentor other members of the planning team
  • Work collaboratively across Council to achieve positive planning outcomes
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Town Planning
  • 3+ years’ statutory planning experience
  • Victorian Local Government experience highly regarded
  • Strong knowledge of the Victorian planning framework and legislation
  • Experience managing complex planning applications
  • Confident stakeholder management, negotiation and report-writing skills
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence
