About the Role

Clarity Partners is looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join a specialist organisation operating within the Construction and Offshore sector.

 

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will supervise the payroll team and day-to-day payroll processes, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time every pay run. You will oversee payroll processing, reconciliations, compliance and payroll queries, while providing guidance and training to the Payroll Officer and supporting the Payroll Manager as required.
 

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and process payrolls in accordance with applicable agreements, policies and procedures, including timesheets, expenses, employee masterfiles and leave records.
  • Process employee adjustments, advances, Training and Injury Management wages, and other payroll-related payments.
  • Prepare and oversee EFT and international transfer payments.
  • Supervise and train the Payroll Officer, providing day-to-day guidance and support.
  • Reconcile, report and process payments relating to net pay, PAYG and superannuation, including end-of-month payments and reports.
  • Maintain severance, annual leave, long service leave and other payroll accruals and provisions.
  • Respond to payroll queries and resolve pay adjustments, including correspondence and repayment processing, with employees, internal teams and relevant third parties.
  • Assist with ad hoc payroll reporting and payroll audits while maintaining legislative compliance and accurate payroll records.
  • Provide support and backup to the Payroll Manager as required.


About You

  • Solid experience in a similar payroll role, including experience supervising and training staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in award interpretation and application.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll, taxation and superannuation requirements.
  • Advanced computer literacy across MS Word, Excel, Adobe and payroll systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while managing competing priorities and strict deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to respond effectively to payroll queries and stakeholder needs.
  • Year 12 English and Maths or TAFE Business Studies qualification is desirable.
