The Corporate Development team has a long-standing track record of deal execution spanning approximately three decades, with consistent transaction activity across market cycles. The Vice President will play a pivotal role in sourcing and executing transactions across the enterprise—supporting both U.S. and international businesses—and presenting recommendations to senior leaders and the company’s Global Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution (M&A, Divestitures, Reinsurance)

  • Lead end-to-end transaction execution, managing all phases of the deal lifecycle from opportunity identification through closing and integration planning.
  • Drive acquisition and divestiture processes including sourcing, evaluation, diligence, valuation, negotiation, deal structuring, and execution.
  • Support reinsurance transaction evaluation and execution in partnership with internal stakeholders and external advisors.

Financial Modeling, Valuation & Strategic Analysis

  • Build and review detailed financial models, including cash flow forecasts, scenario analysis, return metrics, and value creation drivers.
  • Conduct rigorous valuation analysis and assess strategic and financial risks to inform executive-level recommendations.
  • Translate complex findings into clear investment theses, decision points, and actionable insights for functional leaders and the Global Leadership Team.

Market Intelligence & Growth Opportunity Identification

  • Monitor industry trends and competitive dynamics within insurance, retirement, and asset management to identify strategic inorganic growth opportunities.
  • Evaluate market structure shifts, competitor moves, and emerging areas of consolidation to inform corporate development strategy.
  • Develop a perspective on potential targets, partnerships, and portfolio actions aligned with enterprise priorities.

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships across internal functions including Finance, Legal, Risk, Tax, and business unit leadership to execute transactions efficiently and responsibly.
  • Manage external advisors including investment banks, consultants, and other transaction partners, ensuring timely outputs and high-quality execution.
  • Coordinate across multiple workstreams to keep transaction timelines, diligence requests, and approvals on track.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Mentor and develop junior team members (Associates and Analysts), supporting skill growth and best-in-class deal execution standards.
  • Promote consistent processes, strong documentation discipline, and a high-performance, collaborative operating culture.
  • Provide leadership and direction during time-sensitive transaction cycles and competing priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of transaction-focused experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development, ideally within financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience executing complex transactions including M&A and divestitures; reinsurance transaction exposure is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Finance, Business, Economics, or related preferred).
  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and accounting fundamentals.
  • Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced credential strongly preferred: MBA, CFA, and/or actuarial designation (ASA/FSA).
  • Industry expertise in insurance, retirement, asset management, or adjacent financial services sectors.
  • Strong familiarity with transaction considerations including legal, regulatory, tax, and governance requirements.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced financial modeling and investment analysis capability
  • Strong strategic thinking, commercial judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Executive-level communication: ability to synthesize complexity into clear recommendations
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder influence skills
  • High ownership mindset with comfort operating under deadlines and ambiguity
