Job Overview:

This position would report to the Operations Manager and is responsible for supervising our mold makers by ensuring that the molds are produced on-time and at the quoted price.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a safety-first culture in the tool shop; enforce company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Lead daily mold shop operations to ensure molds/tooling are delivered on time and at quoted cost.
  • Own daily production scheduling and resource planning across people, CNC, EDM, grinding, polishing, assembly, and finishing.
  • Maintain real-time visibility, tracking, and accountability for all open tooling projects; communicate priorities and status.
  • Identify, escalate, and remove bottlenecks to protect build schedules and improve throughput.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts (process flow, standard work, quality, and housekeeping/5S).
  • Coach, train, and onboard mold makers; develop talent and reinforce company values on the floor.
  • Monitor performance, provide day-to-day leadership coverage (break/lunch relief, absence coverage), and ensure consistent execution.
  • Drive quality and prevention of nonconformities through troubleshooting, corrective actions, and sustainable countermeasures.
  • Partner with engineering and suppliers: coordinate ECNs/customer revisions, lead design reviews, and recommend capital equipment investments.
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining and mold manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD data.


Preferences
  • Experience with LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) and silicone mold manufacturing.
  • Experience in plastic injection mold design and construction.
  • SolidWorks experience or willingness and aptitude to learn.
  • CAM programming experience.
  • Hands-on CNC machining experience
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/project tracking systems.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements 
  • Fully site based
 
The pay range for this role is $90-$139k, excluding incentive opportunities. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.  Hired applicant will be eligible to receive discretionary annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
