Join a leading energy provider in a pivotal role as a Solution Designer, where you will contribute to their exciting digital transformation journey. This is a full-time position, initially offered as a contract. The role is based in Melbourne, with flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance. As the client modernises its extensive digital estate, you will play a key part in shaping their future technology landscape.

As the selected candidate, you will:

  • Assess the current applications and portals built across various JavaScript frameworks, including Angular, AngularJS, React, React Native, and Node.js backend services.
  • Define a strategic migration plan and develop a target-state design focused on consolidating onto React.
  • Utilise AI-assisted tools to accelerate legacy code analysis and facilitate rebuilding projects.
  • Produce comprehensive solution designs and present these to senior stakeholders and architecture forums.
  • Work hands-on with legacy codebases to analyse, assess, and prototype solutions that support the migration and modernisation efforts.
To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Deep expertise in JavaScript frameworks, including both legacy (AngularJS) and modern (Angular, React).
  • Full-stack experience, with a strong background in Node.js backend services.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering framework migration or application modernisation projects.
  • Strong solution design capabilities, including effective communication with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
  • The ability to work hands-on in legacy codebases, demonstrating practical coding and analytical skills.
  • Based in or willing to work from Melbourne.
It is desirable if you have:

  • Experience using AI tools for code analysis, refactoring or rebuilding projects.
  • React Native experience.
  • Background working with large, customer-facing digital estates, particularly within energy, utilities, or other regulated industries.
