Overview
Client is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) organization. In this role, you will contribute to software development activities that support modernization efforts focused on improved efficiency, security, automation, and scalability.
You will collaborate with software, systems, electrical, and test engineers in an Agile development environment to design, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain software solutions while ensuring established software standards are met.
Core Responsibilities
• Support the EGSE organization through software design, development, testing, debugging, and documentation activities.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives focused on efficiency, security, automation, and scalability.
• Collaborate with software, systems, electrical, and test engineering teams using Agile development methodologies.
• Coordinate with product line management and other directorates to support program needs.
• Analyze system capabilities, resolve software issues, correct program errors, and develop operating documentation.
• Support software integration and interactions between hardware test systems, network devices, and lab instrumentation.
Education
Bachelors+3 years or Masters 0-3 years
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies
• Minimum 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Programming experience in one or more of the following technologies: C/C++, LabVIEW, Python, Java, or TestStand.
• Experience in automated test equipment (ATE) software design.
• Fundamental understanding of the Python scripting language.
• Experience with product lifecycle management processes, including design, development, and deployment, and/or experience with issue-tracking systems.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required prior to start.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
Preferred Skills or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Experience with software design, development, and integration on hardware test systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience troubleshooting software and hardware interactions, including network devices and laboratory instrumentation.
• Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and test software development using LabVIEW, C/C++, or Python.
• Prior experience supporting Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) or communications systems within aerospace or defense environments.
• Familiarity with Atlassian products and development processes.
• Existing Secret clearance preferred.
