IT Lead

About the role: 

This role is central to keeping the organisation's technology secure, reliable, and running smoothly. You'll work across technology operations, systems administration, vendor management, cyber security, data governance, and hands-on user support, helping staff get the most from their technology every day.

This is an initial 6-month contract with potential to become permanent for the right person. 
 
Key responsibilities:

• Provide first-line technical support across devices, systems, meeting room technology, telephony, and collaboration tools, including user onboarding, account administration, access management, asset tracking, and issue resolution through to vendor escalation where required.
• Administer and configure core business systems, support system enhancements and integrations, and maintain accurate documentation to ensure effective and reliable system operation.
• Manage relationships with external technology providers, coordinating support, service improvements, upgrades, and issue resolution to ensure reliable and cost-effective technology services.
• Support data governance, quality, privacy, security, and access management practices, working with internal teams and external providers to maintain compliant and well-managed data environments.
• Support technology security, compliance, operational monitoring, user enablement, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system performance, reliability, and user experience.
• Coordinate cyber security activities with external providers, supporting security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and organisation-wide security awareness and best practice.

About you:

• 7+ years' experience in IT support, systems administration, technology operations, or a similar hands-on technology role.
• Strong experience managing third-party technology vendors and coordinating service delivery.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Working knowledge of cyber security, data protection, and technology risk management principles.
• Proactive, pragmatic, and service-oriented, with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
