Level 1 IT Support Technician ( Field Services)
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Level 1 IT Support Technician to provide onsite technical support to end users at customer locations. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level IT professional looking to build hands-on experience in desktop support, hardware deployments, break-fix services, and end-user technology support.
The ideal candidate is punctual, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of following established procedures while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform desktop, laptop, monitor, docking station, and peripheral installations.
- Assist with new user workstation setups, moves, adds, and changes.
- Provide basic troubleshooting and break-fix support for end-user devices.
- Deploy and replace hardware including PCs, printers, scanners, and related equipment.
- Connect and configure basic peripherals and network-connected devices.
- Support software installations, updates, and standard imaging processes.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate service records.
- Follow customer site procedures, safety requirements, and project guidelines.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior technicians or engineering teams when necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive customer-facing attitude at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and common office technology.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to customer locations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed.
- Ability to work independently while following documented procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in IT support, help desk, deployments, or technical field services.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products.
- Exposure to Active Directory, ticketing systems, or basic networking concepts is a plus.
- CompTIA A certification or equivalent technical training is preferred but not required.
