Senior Back-end Engineer (Java/BFF: 8228)

A Global IT Service firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Engineer to join the Checkout Experience Group. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical systems positioned between frontend applications and backend services.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and release systems aligned with business requirements
- Develop, maintain, and operate BFF services and REST APIs that support the checkout and cart platform
- Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making
- Perform system operations, troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis for large-scale production systems
- Collaborate proactively with Product Managers, QA engineers, and cross-functional development teams
- Lead technical discussions, reviews, and project delivery as a senior engineering member
- Design and implement high-performance, reliable, scalable, and maintainable services

Required skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on Java EE development experience in a Full Stack Engineering role
- Hands-on experience in developing and operating RESTful Web APIs
- Experience operating large-scale online systems, including troubleshooting and incident management
- Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, testing, and production operations
- Ability to proactively design and develop high-performance, reliable, and maintainable software solutions
- Senior-level engineering experience with the ability to proactively communicate and collaborate with QA and Product Managers, lead other engineers, and drive projects to successful completion
- Experience developing applications using container technologies such as Docker
