Support Worker (Adults)
Location: Hampshire (Southampton, Portsmouth and surrounding areas)
Salary: National Living Wage, with rates of up to £13.15 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Temporary
Shift Pattern: Flexible shifts available, including days, nights, sleep-ins, weekends and long days.
About the Role
At First for Support, we're looking for compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our growing team, providing temporary staffing support to a range of adult care services across Hampshire.
As a Support Worker, you'll play an important role in helping adults live as independently as possible while promoting dignity, respect and choice. Working across residential services, supported living and other care settings, no two days are the same, giving you the opportunity to make a real difference while enjoying the flexibility that temporary work offers.
Your Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities may include:
·Providing high-quality, person-centred support.
·Assisting with personal care where required.
·Supporting individuals with daily living activities, including cooking, cleaning and shopping.
·Encouraging independence and promoting choice.
·Supporting individuals to access the local community, appointments and social activities.
·Administering or assisting with medication in line with training and company procedures.
·Maintaining accurate care records and reporting any concerns.
·Promoting safeguarding, dignity, equality and inclusion at all times.
You may support adults with a range of needs, including dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities and other complex needs.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for candidates who:
·Have previous experience in a Care or Support Worker role.
·Have experience supporting adults and/or older people with a range of complex needs, including dementia, learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.
·Are caring, patient, compassionate and enthusiastic about making a positive difference.
·Are reliable, professional and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
·Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy building meaningful relationships.
·Understand person-centred care and promoting dignity, choice and independence.
