We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Specialist to join a new, purpose-built Level 4 regional hospital, scheduled to open in 2027.

The opportunity
You will provide high-quality emergency care across a broad and varied case mix while contributing to the development of the new department.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing senior clinical leadership across the Emergency Department
• Managing adult, paediatric, trauma, acute medical and surgical presentations
• Supporting safe patient flow and effective clinical decision-making
• Supervising and mentoring junior medical officers
• Contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
• Participating in clinical governance, quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives
• Developing collaborative relationships across medical, nursing and allied health teams
• Helping establish the systems, standards and culture of a new emergency service
• Participating in evening, weekend and on-call rosters

About you
Applicants should hold:

• Specialist registration in Emergency Medicine with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine; or
• Specialist registration in General Practice with FRACGP or FACRRM, advanced qualifications in Emergency Medicine and appropriate recent senior experience.

You will bring strong clinical judgment, effective leadership and communication skills, a commitment to patient safety and clinical governance, and a genuine interest in teaching and supporting the next generation of doctors.
