The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established and rapidly expanding professional services firm in Limerick that is looking to appoint a Qualified Accountant to join its growing accounts team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified or experienced accountant looking to develop their career within a progressive practice, gaining exposure to a broad range of clients across the Mid-West business community.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced accountants and Portfolio Managers, taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of accounts and tax assignments while continuing to develop their technical and commercial skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and finalise accounts for a varied portfolio of companies, sole traders and partnerships.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting accounting information.
- Prepare tax computations and returns, including Income Tax and Corporation Tax.
- Assist with audit assignments across a diverse range of sectors.
- Assist with company secretarial and annual return requirements.
- Manage your own workload and ensure client assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Bring accounts files through to finalisation, identifying and resolving issues along the way.
- Liaise with clients and develop strong working relationships.
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers and other members of the accounts team.
- Provide support and assistance to colleagues during busy periods.
- Contribute to the continued development and growth of the practice.
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- ACA, ACCA or CPA qualified.
- Ideally have at least 1 year post-qualification experience.
- Experienced within an accountancy practice environment.
- Strong technically, with good knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
- Comfortable working with a portfolio of SME clients.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of assignments from start to finish.
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of the Mid-West business environment.
- Highly organised with strong time management skills.
- A confident communicator who enjoys dealing with clients.
- Comfortable working to deadlines and managing competing priorities.
- Technically proficient with Microsoft Office and modern/online accounting systems.
- A team player who is keen to contribute to a positive and collaborative office environment.
- Ambitious and interested in developing their career within a growing firm.
The Team
You will join an established and growing accounts function, working alongside a team of experienced accounting professionals and Portfolio Managers.
The wider accounts team currently consists of 8 members, with resources allocated across different client portfolios depending on workload and demand. This provides exposure to a broad range of clients and assignments.
You will report to an Accounts Portfolio Manager, with the opportunity to develop your technical, client management and advisory skills as your career progresses.
