An excellent opportunity has come about for an experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join a well-established manufacturing facility in Limerick.
This is a permanent day-shift position, ideally suited to a qualified maintenance professional with a strong mechanical background and proven electrical fault-finding experience. You will support both production equipment and facilities maintenance across the site, working closely with the Equipment Engineering Manager.
Working hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8.00am to 4.30pm
- Friday: 8.00am to 3.30pm
- Overtime may be required occasionally
The role:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
- Complete welding and fabrication work as required.
- Maintain motors, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics and associated systems.
- Support general facilities maintenance, including basic plumbing requirements.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
- Identify spare parts and consumables required for servicing and repairs.
- Record all maintenance and repair activities through the company’s CMMS in line with ISO standards.
- Work closely with production and engineering colleagues to improve equipment reliability.
What you will need:
- FETAC Level 6 qualification or equivalent.
- Ideally 10 years or more of maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical fitting and machine-repair experience.
- Good electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Welding and fabrication experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of motors, bearings, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Ability to work with contactors, relays, sensors and machine safety systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication and basic Microsoft Office 365 skills.
Experience working with fibre laser CNC machinery, press brakes, grinding and polishing equipment, extraction systems, compressors, industrial doors or large gantry cranes would be an advantage.
