AVA Analytics Engineer

Nokia is undertaking a large-scale service analytics and big data platform initiative called AVA and serving thousands to tens of thousands of internal and external users.

The AVA Analytics Expert must be willing to work in a very dynamic environment which includes interactions with multiple organizations and externally toward Japanese customers on a regular basis.

He/she will possess expertise in SW solution design, architecture, and hands-on development, testing, and deployment of complex Big Data Analytics Applications utilizing variety of Big Data technologies. This AVA Analytics Expert will have excellent understanding and experience with programming and scripting languages such as Python, R, Java and strong experience in using open source framework.

He/she must have detailed knowledge of data preparation and cleaning, algorithm selection & design, results analysis, industrialization. He is solution-oriented, curious, open-minded, autonomous and willing to work in team. He is able to take initiative to propose and find innovative solutions.

Additionally, he/she will be involved in preparing and presenting our technical solutions to our customers

Knowledge of common visualization frameworks such as Kibana and BI tools is a plus.

Ideally he is familiar with Nokia data sources such as NetAct and Cell Trace.

He/she will be working with Nokia AVA cognitive services platform. Nokia AVA is a cloud-based platform that combines big data storage, intelligent analytics and extreme automation, allowing Telecom operators to move away from traditional reactive network operations to a cognitive approach that predicts faults and solves them rapidly. As well as delivering today's expert services, AVA will facilitate a more efficient and faster delivery of Nokia services across the entire network lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Requirements gathering for network planning and optimization analytics use cases containing Big Data applications solutions.
• Define needed content solution with NPO technical domain experts (Radio, Core)
• Translate use cases of customer solution into SW development items
• Design and build concept solutions, design and implement Analytics solutions to meet specific use cases
• Works hands-on with code for big data processing with Apache Spark
• Produces and maintains technical specifications, user stories, and other similar artifacts
• Reviews code and related documentation (requirements, design documents, user documentation including training material)
• Follows new features and changes in external systems and open source components.
• Customer interaction for technical analytics solutions

Qualifications And Skills

• Master’s Degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Solid knowledge in statistics descriptive analysis (Student’s test, Fisher test, ANOVA, Chi2, etc…), supervised and unsupervised analysis (regressions, CAH, PCAn, K-Means, decision trees, etc...)
• Machine Learning linear and logistic regressions, discriminant analysis, bagging, boosting, random forests, gradient boosting, neural networks, text mining and topics extraction, etc...
• Knowledge of Python (sklearn, panda, numpy,..), Spark/Scala (Mlib) or R data science libraries
• Big Data Cassandra & Elastic Stack, etc..
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• High energy, initiative, enthusiasm and persistence. English & Japanese language mandatory (written and verbal)

ASSIGNMENT

• Performs optimization in terms of capacity, architecture, performance, analyses counters and metrics on current capacity and usage.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

• Defines a complete communication system/network to meet customer’s requirements system dimensioning & design, design interfaces between the network elements in a end to end view
• Defines the criteria to assess network performance from end-user / service perspective & monitors those criteria
• Identifies and anticipates proactively network performance issues (traffic/quality/resiliency) and provides recommendations for improvement
• Optimizes the capacity of the network to meet traffic increase and customer requirements thanks to either network extension or existing network modification
• Ensures that design & optimization guaranty the capability for the network to provide end-user new services in line with customer environment, business goals/drivers and quality
• Continuously looks for new business opportunities by proactively encouraging customers at exploring new solutions and triggering up scopes
