Philanthropy plays a critical role in funding this work, and we're seeking an experienced relationship fundraiser to help deepen engagement with major donors and high-value supporters who share Mission Australia's vision of a fairer Australia.
About the Role
Reporting to the Partnerships Team Lead, you'll manage a portfolio that could consist of major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate donors or other high-value supporters, developing personalised engagement strategies that inspire long-term commitment and investment.
This is a relationship-led fundraising role where success comes from understanding donor motivations, building authentic connections and creating meaningful opportunities for supporters to make a significant impact.
You'll inherit an engaged portfolio while also identifying and cultivating new philanthropic opportunities, helping to deliver sustainable income growth and long-term supporter relationships.

- Manage, steward and grow a portfolio of major donors and high-value supporters
- Develop and execute tailored donor engagement and cultivation plans
- Build strong relationships that lead to increased giving, retention and long-term commitment
- Identify, cultivate and secure new philanthropic opportunities
- Prepare compelling cases for support, proposals and funding requests
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to connect donors with meaningful funding opportunities
- Track portfolio activity, opportunities and progress through the CRM
- Contribute to fundraising strategy, portfolio growth and revenue targets
- Ensure exceptional donor care and stewardship throughout the supporter journey
You are an experienced major gifts or relationship fundraising professional who understands that successful fundraising is built on trust, authenticity and long-term relationships.
You enjoy engaging with donors, uncovering what motivates their giving and creating opportunities for them to make a meaningful difference.
You'll bring:
- Demonstrated success in major gifts, philanthropy, partnerships or high-value fundraising
- Experience managing and growing a portfolio of major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate supporters or philanthropic relationships
- A track record of securing significant gifts and achieving revenue targets
- Exceptional relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong influencing, communication and presentation skills
- Experience developing donor strategies, cultivation plans and funding proposals
- A donor-centric approach and genuine passion for building long-term relationships
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across teams
