The Opportunity

Design & Build Recruitment is partnering with one of Australia's leading Tier 1 construction companies to appoint an experienced Site Manager for a major $300m defence infrastructure project.

The project involves the delivery of a large scale, training facility, incorporating complex structural elements, extensive façade packages to house high quality educational facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established project team delivering critical infrastructure that will play an important role in supporting Australia's defence capability for years to come.

The Role

Reporting to an experienced Senior Site Manager, you will work alongside four other Site Managers, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of significant façade and external building packages.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day to day delivery of façade and associated construction works.
• Coordinating subcontractors, trades, materials and site resources.
• Driving programme, productivity and construction milestones.
• Ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance.
• Managing subcontractor performance and resolving technical and construction challenges.
• Working closely with the Senior Site Manager, engineering and project delivery teams.
• Coordinating interfaces between structural, façade and other construction packages.
• Maintaining strong communication with project stakeholders and contributing to a collaborative site culture.

About You We're looking for an experienced Site Manager who has developed their career delivering significant commercial, institutional or defence construction projects.

Ideally, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 commercial builder.
• Strong experience delivering large scale structural and façade packages.
• Previous exposure to defence projects or similarly complex, highly regulated construction environments.
• Experience managing significant subcontractor packages on projects of substantial value.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, programming, safety and quality management.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a large project delivery team.
• A practical, solutions focused approach and a strong commitment to successful project outcomes.
