Financial Accountant

Stellar Recruitment is partnering with a well-established industrial organisation to appoint a Financial Accountant to join its Adelaide-based finance team.

You'll work closely with operational teams, contribute to process improvements and play a key role in strengthening the finance function as the business continues to grow.

About the Role
  
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting while supporting continuous improvement across the finance function.
  
Working closely with both finance and operational stakeholders, you'll help ensure strong financial controls, improve reporting processes and provide financial support across multiple areas of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare month-end financial reporting, including journals, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
• Support the annual audit process, maintain accurate financial records and ensure strong financial controls and data integrity.
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial support across inventory, operational accounting and business activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance finance operations, reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis, reporting and commercial support to the Financial Controller and wider business.

About You
  
We're looking for a motivated Financial Accountant who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
  
You'll ideally have 2–5 years' experience in financial accounting, with exposure to manufacturing, industrial, mining, resources, construction or other operationally focused businesses being highly regarded.
  
We also encourage applications from candidates currently working in public practice, audit or business services who are looking to make their first move into a commercial finance environment. To be successful, you'll bring:
  

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline, with CA/CPA completed or currently underway.
• Strong financial accounting fundamentals with experience across month-end close, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Exposure to external audits, financial reporting and maintaining accurate financial records.
• High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive communicator with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to build strong relationships across the business.
