Apply directA community services organization on Long Island is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Nassau County as a Learning & Professional Development Specialist, training and certifying staff through interactive and engaging methods.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Standard business (35-hour flex, including evenings and weekends)
- Setting: Non-clinical training environment
Responsibilities:
- Facilitating medical training using interactive techniques
- Training and certifying AMAP staff and conducting recertifications
- Delivering training in CPR, Infection Control, First Aid & Seizure, and more
- Ensuring all training documentation is audit-ready
- Developing and updating curricula according to regulations
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Strong public speaking and facilitation skills
- Experience with MS Office and virtual platforms
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- AMAP certification
- Experience working with the ID/DD population
- Experience with Diabetes Education
- Experience with Tube Feeding and Colostomy Care
