About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical equipment to ensure plant and machinery operate safely and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing preventative, scheduled and breakdown maintenance.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults.
- Installing and commissioning mechanical equipment.
- Maintaining pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and other plant equipment.
- Fault finding on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Inspecting machinery and replacing worn or damaged components.
- Using precision measuring equipment to ensure components are correctly fitted.
- Completing maintenance reports and following workplace procedures.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment while complying with all WHS requirements.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience working as a Mechanical Fitter in mining, manufacturing, industrial or processing environments.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience maintaining rotating equipment, pumps and conveyors will be highly regarded.
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG or ARC) is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Current Driver's Licence (preferred).
