An established residential developer builder is looking for a Cost Planner to join their team.
You'll work directly under a very experienced Senior Cost Planner, playing a key role in preparing BOQs, completing detailed quantity take-offs and supporting the tendering process across a range of medium-density residential projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of estimating and wants to focus on measurement, cost planning and pricing support rather than managing the entire tender process.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Cost Planner, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from architectural and construction documentation.
- Completing detailed quantity take-offs for residential developments.
- Assisting with cost planning and tender estimates throughout the pre-construction phase.
- Reviewing drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps and commercial risks.
- Supporting the preparation and distribution of subcontractor tender packages.
- Reviewing and comparing subcontractor quotations.
- Maintaining accurate pricing records and estimating documentation.
- Liaising with Construction, Design, Development and Procurement teams to ensure pricing accuracy.
- Assisting with value engineering initiatives and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
We're looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in estimating, cost planning, quantity surveying or BOQ preparation within residential construction - 2-5 years experience
- Strong experience completing detailed quantity take-offs and preparing Bills of Quantities.
- The ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating/take-off software.
- Experience working on townhouse, duplex, terrace or other low-rise residential developments.
- Experience with CostX, Cubit, PlanSwift, Databuild or similar estimating software.
- Qualifications in Construction Management, Building, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
