Role Overview
- Position Type: Full Time Permanent
- Position of Leadership: POL 3 (tenure 2027-2029)
- Start Date: Term 1, 2027 (January)
- Location: Melbourne's Western Suburbs
- Year Levels: Years 7, 8 or 9 (two Year Level Leaders per cohort)
- Reports to: Director of Student Wellbeing
- Salary: $89,218 – $127,692 FTE depending on experience and classification. POL allowances apply for leadership positions.
- Provide leadership and support to students, staff and families in the areas of wellbeing, pastoral care, positive behaviours and community engagement across an allocated year level cohort
- Lead individual case management of student wellbeing and performance, implementing appropriate interventions and maintaining clear records of communications with students, families, staff and external agencies
- Build a strong sense of team with Pastoral and Learning Mentors and collaborate with the broader Wellbeing Team to ensure all students are connected, engaged and supported
- Lead and implement a culture of Restorative Practices, conducting Student Support meetings and case managing individual Student Support Plans across the year level
- Plan and deliver year level assemblies, transition events and wellbeing programs including the Time to Shine Program, supporting student voice and connectedness across college life
- Liaise with the Counselling Team, Learning Diversity Team, Youth Liaison Officer and Strategic Wellbeing Team to coordinate holistic support for students and families at risk
You're a qualified teacher who:
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Australian/NZ Citizenship, PR or valid work rights (Working Holiday Visa holders encouraged to apply)
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
- Has an updated resume and can provide at least two recent professional references
- Brings creativity and adaptability to lesson planning and delivery
- Maintains high expectations for student learning and wellbeing
